Special Education Needs

SENCo – Mrs C Bates

At SWJS, our aim is to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential personally, socially, emotionally and academically and we strive for inclusion for all.

We respect the fact that children are individuals with their own aspirations, who acquire, process and communicate information at different rates and benefit from a range of teaching approaches and experiences.

Children are identified as having SEND if they are in need of additional or different provision to their peers. We will endeavour to provide the right level of support for their specific needs in order to help them develop and accelerate their progress.

Children with diagnosed disabilities and difficulties are also included on our register of SEND. We believe this is important; in order to recognise the child’s needs and to ensure that information is shared with all staff, and with staff at other schools if and when a child transfers.

Children at SWJS make good progress and achieve in line with other schools nationally with SEND.
